Modus Team Brings New Life to the Amber Foundation’s Facilities

Over the past two Fridays, the Modus team swapped out their usual cost plans and measuring tools for paint brushes and shovels, all in the name of giving back to the community. As part of our ongoing commitment to social value, we spent two rewarding days working to improve the facilities at the Amber Foundation in Ashford.

The Amber Foundation is a Supported Housing centre that offers crucial support to young adults aged 18-30 who are facing challenging circumstances. From homelessness and mental health issues to unemployment, the centre provides these individuals with the resources and guidance they need to rebuild their lives and work towards a more promising future.

Our team, split into two groups over the two Fridays, focused on enhancing both indoor and outdoor spaces. Inside, we refreshed the resident lounge and games room with a fresh coat of paint, brightening the spaces where the young residents can relax and unwind. Outside, we worked to create a new chill-out area, complete with a pergola, giving the residents a calm and inviting spot to spend time outdoors.

One of the highlights of the experience was having some of the residents join us in our efforts. They eagerly chipped in, helping with both the painting and the outdoor construction, creating a real sense of collaboration and community.

At Modus, we believe in the power of social responsibility, and it was truly rewarding to see the difference we could make in a short period of time. The Amber Foundation does incredible work, and we’re proud to have played a small part in supporting their mission to transform lives.

Our work at Modus doesn’t stop with undertaking these tasks, as a business we are excited about the future ongoing support we can provide to Amber and the young people they support. As a business working in the construction industry, we have a huge network of contacts ranging from architects, engineers, graphic designers, contractors etc; moving forward we hope to be able to engage with this network to provide inspiration to the residents about the diverse opportunities in the industry and hopefully go on to source work opportunities, apprenticeships and training for the residents, so that we can support them in returning to a life outside of Amber.
