Modus are delighted to announce the successful completion of the extension of an existing boarding house to provide a large common room, a 2 bed flat, a three bed flat and 22 new dormitory pitts. Modus acted as Project Coordinators, Contract Administrators and Quantity Surveyors on the £1,500,000 scheme which was designed by Folkes Architects, McCarey Simmonds and Hampson Barron Smith and constructed by Pilbeam Construction.
Works are due to start on new teaching block at The Canterbury Academy. The project comprises of 14 general teaching classrooms and 1 drama space together with alterations to the existing building to provide an additional food technology classroom and two additional science labs. Having successfully secured funding the client have awarded the contract to BEC Construction. The project team comprises of Modus Construction Consultants acting as Quantity Surveyors, OSG Architecture in the role of lead designer and contract administrator, Considine providing structural and civil engineering and Hamson Barron Smith doing mechanical and electrical engineering. After working on this project for some time it will be very pleasing to see it start on site in July.
Works have now commenced on a new 3,700sqft private residence in Bridge near Canterbury in Kent. The project, which has been designed by BDB Design, is to be completed by Coombs (Canterbury) Limited and is set for completion during the second quarter of 2017.
