The extension and refurbishment of the Emergency Department at the QEQM Hospital in Margate. Due to a rising number of patients, this project will allow the hospital to better cope with future demands.

The update will provide the hospital with a new child assessment ward and paediatric unit, an expansion of the majors and rapid response units, a mental health suite and a new staff support unit and breakout room.

The project will be delivered in full compliance with HBNs and HTMs – the specialist guidance for design and planning of a new adaption or extension to existing NHS facilities and the installation of specialised healthcare building services. The new extension building is to be located within the existing courtyard.
