The new development of affordable housing designed by Folkestone and Hythe District Council aims to provide zero-carbon homes.
In using modern methods of construction (MMC) and the latest technology, these homes will be as close as possible to zero-carbon in use. The technology which will help to make the houses carbon-neutral includes mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems, solar panels, battery power storage and air source heat pumps.
Cllr David Godfrey, cabinet member for housing and special projects has described the development as ‘ground-breaking’.
Modus are providing Employer’s Agent and Quantity surveying services to the council. The works have been split into an enabling works package and a construction package, with construction due to start towards the end of 2021.
