The construction of a new 144m2 Life Skills Academy building providing 4 flexible classrooms, a dedicated on-to-one study area and a specially designed interactive space allowing our specialist tutors to facilitate whole-class work, small group activities and personal study sessions.
The building itself was to be specifically designed and constructed to be low maintenance and economically viable, but most importantly, to meet the specific needs of its students, providing a nurturing and positive environment for all those who use the facility. In addition, in an increased square footage could be provided, the centre could provide additional curriculum programmes with less restrictions on student numbers and offers more places to wheelchair users.
In terms of sustainability, the building has been designed and constructed in excess of the standards required under the building regulations scoring highly in terms of energy efficiency as demonstrated in its EPC.
