Modus has been appointed as Cost Advisor on the development of a new two-storey Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent. The project will deliver a highly specialised clinical facility at the front of the existing hospital campus, supported by a series of complex enabling works including HV/LV rationalisation, underground services diversions, additional car parking and estate reconfiguration.
A key early focus has been de-risking the scheme through the separation and coordination of enabling works packages, ensuring critical infrastructure and planning requirements are addressed ahead of the main build.
Modus produced the Stage 2 cost plan and continues to provide ongoing cost management and monthly financial reporting to the client. During design development, we have supported informed decision-making through detailed option appraisals, including frame solution comparisons, helping the team achieve best value while maintaining programme and performance objectives.
The scheme is targeting BREEAM Excellent and is currently progressing through the pre-construction and enabling works phase. Completion is due in April 2028.
